A Potted History of the Botanic Gardens

Our next talk is “A Potted History of the Botanic Gardens”.

The talk will cover the history of the garden from it’s establishment in 1795, through the ages, up to the present time.

The speaker is Charlotte Salter-Townshend. Charlotte qualified as a Historian and works as a member of the education team, based in the Visitors Centre at the Botanic Gardens.

She designed several special themed tours, including  “Plants and Power – Botanical Imperialism” as well as “Scent-sational” etc. as well as lectures, such as “Plant Hunters in Petticoats”. It all sounds very interesting and mysterious!!!
