The summer formally arrived in June and the weather continued to be warm and sunny, even though there seems to be a blip at the moment. This was/is welcomed by most gardeners who were happy that the long-needed rain finally came and the plants got a good soaking. I just hope that the rain knows, like a welcome guest, the right time to leave!!
At this stage of the lockdown, we slowly but surely are all able to go to shops, cafes and travel a bit further, as long as we keep our distance and wear our masks when we are on the bus and when we get to our destination!!
Life seems to be resuming more normal patterns, even though a lot of events that involve larger numbers, are still cancelled due to infection risks. It does feel as if normal life is slowly returning but until there is a vaccine, the need to be careful will continue and events will be cancelled.
Clontarf Garden Society – Autumn Show Cancellation
The committee of the Clontarf Garden Society has considered the on-going risk of infection from the COVID 19 virus and have decided to cancel our Autumn Show, which was due to be held this September.
Hopefully, a vaccine will be ready by the end of this year/the beginning of next year and the garden talks, shows and visits can resume in a safe way!! Until then, we have to continue to look at our own gardens or on television programmes and dream of freedom and better times!
